Here’s a list of 5 appointment reminder extensions for Chrome which you can use to never again miss important appointments. Missing appointments is very easy if you get a lot of phone calls, emails and IM messages from people asking for you time. It doesn’t matter if it’s meetings, tasks or school assignments, missing appointments is never a good thing. Extensions from the list down below help you out by letting you setup appointments with reminders.
Let’s see how exactly it is that they work.
Boomerang Calendar is a full fledged appointment management interface for Gmail. It helps with the creation of Google Calendar appointments for dates mentioned in emails, but that’s not all this extension offers.
It has email notifications that can be setup which will send you email reminders either 2 hours, 4 hours, the morning before, day before, week before or month before the appointment. Look up the extension icon in the top right corner of the Gmail interface.

Checker Plus for Google Calendar™
Checker Plus for Google Calendar™ steps it up a notch from Boomerang Calendar, as it also has audio notifications and desktop notifications, next to email reminders, for appointments in your Google Calendar.
They can be set to go off minutes, hours, days or weeks ahead of the appointments. Reminder sounds, volume levels, and lots of other settings can be configured by opening up the extension settings.

Chrome Reminder works differently from the both of the previously mentioned appointment reminder extensions. The main difference would be that it’s completely standalone, it does not use Google Calendar.
Clicking on the app icon opens up just a list where appointments can be added, alongside dates when they are due. Small drawback is that it only triggers the reminder on the date when the appointment is due, it can’t be activated 1 hour before the appointment itself. Reminder is given in the form of a pop-up notification in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Owl Reminder for Google Calendar™
Owl Reminder for Google Calendar™ is an app that taps into your list of appointments in Google Calendar and then plays notifications once appointment dates approach.
Clicking on the app icon launches its interface, the one you can see on the image above. Once the reminder goes off this window is also going to be activated, and you can use the available snooze and dismiss buttons to handle the reminder similarly to how you would handle an alarm.

Remind Me Later
Remind Me Later is another standalone reminder extension but unlike Chrome Reminder, Remind Me Later lets you set the time, next to date, when you want the reminder to go off.
App interface lets you setup a list of reminders, they can be categorized, grouped according to priority, notification can be turned off if you want and more.

All 5 of the appointment reminder extensions from the list above worked great for me. The ones I liked the most are Owl and Checker Plus. They have integration with Google Calendar and a really intuitive interface. Remind Me Later is great for offline use. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment down below.
