Guitar Note Practice is a free cross platform guitar note learning software which you can use to learn guitar notes and test your musical note reading skills. It plays random notes in a given interval, and leaves you to guess what the note is, in normal mode, or in case that you’re just starting out, beginner mode, which provides you with the solution what the note is so that you can learn.
What you see on the screenshot below is Guitar Note Practice with the normal mode selected. Mode Set option, which can be seen just below the main note preview box is for selecting the difficulty of the lesson. Beginner shows us an already answered note, letter will be available next to the note. Normal, Sharps, Flats and All are for when you’re a bit more comfortable.

How to learn musical notes with Guitar Note Practice free note learning software
The only thing that you need to do in order to start a note learning session is to go over the three drop down menus and decide what kind of difficulty, length and note display time you’d like to use.
As you can see from the image above, we changed the Note Set to Beginner. Notes in that set a very simplistic and what’s more important, you’re offered with the solution, notice the letter below the note. As the times goes down, new notes are added for you to learn and guess. Changes are made depending on the time that you set in the Note Display Time.
Selecting any of the 3 remaining Mode Sets will give you different, more difficult notes, and what’s more important, you no longer have the training wheels on, meaning there’s no longer a solution provided next to the note, you’re on your own.
Guitar Note Practice might be small and very simple, but it’s gonna help you out a lot when, regardless if you’re a beginner or someone with experience who’s looking for something to refresh their knowledge. Start with the Beginner set of notes and when you no longer need the help, move on to the more difficult ones.
