Here’s a list of 5 weather widget apps for Android which you can use to check what kind of weather we’re gonna be having from the homescreen of your Android powered phone or tablet. Weather widgets are probably the most popular way how screens of Android devices are decorated. I decided to check what the best weather widget apps are so that you can make a selection more easily.
Here’s what I found.
Weather & Clock Widget Android
Weather & Clock Widget Android is actually a full-fledged weather app that comes with widgets. These widgets again aren’t just weather widgets, they also have a clock on them, hence the name, Weather & Clock Widget Android. There are 12 widget sizes to choose from.
To setup a location for the weather forecast, you’ll have to run the app and set the location there. If you have GPS active, app will find your location that way. Widget displays current weather conditions plus also a 5 day forecast.
Transparent Clock & Weather
Transparent Clock & Weather really does offer a transparent weather widget where next to weather there’s also a clock.
This is a much simpler app from the previously mentioned Weather & Clock Widget Android. Tap on the widget to get a more detailed 5 day forecast. There are 9 widget sizes available.

Weather Widget – EZ Weather HD
Weather Widget – EZ Weather HD is another simplistic weather widget app for Android which offers just 3 widget sizes, but what makes it interesting is that the widget supports themes.
By default you get 4 themes to change the appearance of the widget. Additional ones can be downloaded from the Play Store. App lets you select the source from where you want to receive weather updates for up to 7 days in advance.
1Weather:Widget Forecast Radar
1Weather:Widget Forecast Radar will tell you what kind of weather it’s gonna be for up to 10 days in advance. This is another very advanced weather widget app that’s packaged with lots of features.
For example you get animated sunrises, sunsets and lunar phases, live weather backgrounds, map reports, notifications about extreme weather, etc. You can have several widgets on the homescreen, each of them for a different location. Widgets are very configurable, as you can see from the image above.

Weather XL has animated backgrounds, they can be seen when you run the app and set your location of course.
Main screen of the app will then have background animation of whatever the current weather conditions are (rain, windy, snow falling, etc). Widget shows what kind of current conditions we’re having. Tap on the widget opens up the 10 day forecast, within the main app. Live wallpapers are also available.
Get Weather XL.
Weather widget that Weather & Clock Widget Android has gives a lot of features and information, which is what makes it my favorite. The largest widget size even displays a 5 day forecast, which is quite impressive.
