MP3 Knife is a free MP3 cutter that can cut parts from MP3 songs. This is a useful software to extract clips from MP3 files. You basically specify start and end point of your clip, and MP3 Knife will extract that for you.

We have reviewed a few similar software earlier, like, MP3 Cutter, and MP3DirectCut. However, MP3 Knife stands out in terms of its sheer simplicity of usage.

See the screenshot of MP3 Knife above. You have to just specify the MP3 file that you want to work with, select the start point of your clip, and end point of your mp3 clip, and MP3 Knife will extract that MP3 clip for you. It’s that simple.

MP3 Knife does not tries to do any compression or  decompression on the MP3 file, and does not fiddles around with the quality of original MP3 song. So, your MP3 clip gets the same bitrate and quality as original MP3 file.

MP3 Knife comes handy if you want to create ringtones from MP3. The only limitation of MP3 Knife is that it works only with MP3 files. But there are other software available that can create ringtones from youtube videos.

If you are looking for a simple to use MP3 cutter, MP3 Knife is a good bet. This comes from the same developer who made SpeedDefrag.
