Disable Downloads Bar is a free Chrome extension to disable Chrome downloads bar. It simply removes the Downloads Bar, which appears on the bottom of the Google Chrome’s window, every time a new download starts.
Downloads Bar of Google Chrome is somewhat useful as it shows the status of any download in progress. It also allows to use the Downloaded file from there only. But it doesn’t disappear from the window on its own,which keeps the bottom of the Chrome window covered until you click the close icon on the bar. And, this becomes very irritating sometimes. Disable Downloads Bar is a very intuitive Extension for Google Chrome. It accomplishes its goal of disabling Chrome Downloads Bar very easily. It does nothing else, so if you simply want to disable Chrome Downloads Bar then this is the perfect tool for you. However, I do wish that it was a bit more advanced, like showing downloads bar while a download is in progress, but disabling it once the download completes.
