Open Airport Map is a free and open source map website which shows information of airports around the world. The website is made through contributions from OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap is a global community based project to map everything. The contributors from this website have developed this website to provide you information about airports around the world in a map format. So, OpenAirportMap gives you a layout map of any airport around the world and also provides you some basic information about the particular airport you are searching for.
When you search for a airport on this website, you will be shown a vector-map with some basic information marked on it. On the right side of the screen you will see some more information about the airport you searched for.
When you open the website from here, you will be asked to allow access to the website to share your location. You can allow or block it, depending on you. As can be seen in the screenshot below, you have a search box on the top left side of your screen. The results from your search will be displayed in the right side along with a map in the background.
The website is pretty easy to use. You can enter an airports code if you have it, or you can just search for it. You will see a layout map of the entire airport with some marked areas. The right side window will show you some basic information like the link to the airport website, the year in which it was opened, elevation, declination, runways, number of traveling passengers in a year, etc.
The good thing about this maps website is that it is open, so users can also contribute to the maps. If there is something you know that should be on the map and is missing, then you can point that out to the developers.
The website does not cover all the airports of the world right now. I searched for airports in Africa and no results came up. You will find most of the airports on the website, but it does not contain all. Hopefully in the future the developers will try to cover all the airports.
