LAN-Explorer is a freeware LAN explorer that lets you explore all the computers on a LAN. You can explore computers, and find the folders on the computers that have been shared. LAN-Explorer also lets you mark computers or folders as favorite that you need to access frequently.
LAN-Explorer is quite simple to use, and comes with an integrated explorer. Unlike Windows network explorer, LAN-Explorer is quite simple, and user friendly. You are also able to search for shares using this LAN-Explorer. You can search for a filename, or even words in a file, and LAN-Explorer will search for that across all the shared folders.
LAN-Explorer also makes it extremely easy to download files from a shared computer, or upload files to that. The interface shows your computer and network computer side-by-side. You can explore both the computers, and transfer file from one to another. To transfer files between different OS, you can use tools like Dukto, and iMollo.
LAN-Explorer also come with “resume downloads” feature, so even if the download stops temporarily, LAN-Explorer will be able to resume that.
