Here is a multipurpose add-on for Google Docs which has many interesting tools. The name of the add-on is “Doc Tools“. Using this add-on, you can highlight the selected text, change the case, increase and decrease text size, convert word to number and vice versa. As you can see, a couple of useful options are available in this add-on.
You must have used many other Google Docs add-ons to change the text case, highlight text, sort the list, etc., but we need to install all those add-ons. Therefore, Doc Tools is a fantastic option here because multiple tools are packed in a single add-on. You can open its sidebar to access all the options and then use them.
You may also try other interesting Google Docs add-ons reviewed by us:
- How to Translate Text in Google Docs.
- How To Add Clip Art Images in Google Docs Documents.

Using This Free Doc Tools add-on:
Use this link to open the add-on homepage and install it. After installation, this add-on will ready to serve you.
Open a Google Docs and then go to the Add-ons menu → Doc Tools. This will explore most of the options provided by this add-on. For example, you can see options to convert text to UPPER CASE, lowercase, tOGGLE cASE, convert words to numbers (like nine to 9 and eleven to 11), etc.
However, some other options like Highlighter, Eraser, etc. won’t visible here. You need to click Start option available at the top. This will open sidebar where you can see rest of the options. You can use:
- Highlighter: comes with five different colors.
- Capitalize each word.
- Convert word to number.
- Sort the selection in ascending or descending order, etc.
Use the options as per your need and view the changes.
Those who are using separate add-ons to highlight text, change text case, etc., for their Google Docs, I will recommend to use this add-on instead. Of course, it is intelligent step to use a combo add-on which offers same features that other add-ons provide separately.
