OCR [img2txt] is a free Windows 10 OCR (optical character recognition) app to extract text from any image. The app is pretty simple, all you need to do is either click a photo using your camera or upload a image file. After this just click the extract button and the text from the image file would be extracted. Now you can copy this converted text and use it in any other app.
OCR [img2txt] can be downloaded from the Windows 10 store or from the link given at the end of this article. When you start the app you will see a screen like the one showing in the screenshot below.
As you can see in the image above the app interface is pretty basic with minimal options. There is only one language option in the app right now. When you look towards the bottom of the app window, you will see the first two options as camera and browse pictures. The camera option will let you click a photo with text and will upload it to the app interface. Whereas, the browse picture option will let you browse and select a photo from your computer or device. This photo will then be uploaded to the app interface.
After the photo is uploaded, you have to click the third option in the bottom menu which is extract text. Click this option and the extracted text will be shown right below the image itself. There would also be a copy to clipboard option below the extracted text. You can copy this text and use it anywhere you want.
The two screenshots above show two different images whose text has been extracted by this app. The cross option on the bottom menu is for clearing the app interface for a new conversion.

OCR [img2txt] is a pretty basic app and does what it says. You can extract text from any image easily. The only problem I faced was when trying to extract text from images with different fonts. The app was not able to read the more stylish, or curvy font styles. The basic fonts it has no problems with. You can also click a photo to extract its text easily.
