This article explains how to enable push to talk in Google Meet. Google Meet lacks a push to talk feature that can be found in other rivals like Zoom. This might seem a small thing at first but can be a great deal in team meetings and online classes. It eliminates the background noise to make the speakers easily hearable.

Google Meet Push to Talk is a free Chrome extension that brings push to talk in Google Meet. This extension disables the mic by default and lets you pick a keyboard shortcut for push to talk. You can assign any keyboard key for that. Once done, you can talk by pressing that key and release it when done. The mic automatically enables when you press the key and go back to mute when released.
