To enable push to talk in Google Meet, visit this link and install the extension to your web browser. Since this is a Chrome extension, it only works for Chromium-based browsers with support for Chrome Web Store such as Microsoft Edge, Opera, Brave, etc.

Once installed, click the extension icon from the menubar. This shows you the extension settings. There are only two options: hotkey and mute on join. Press the box alongside hotkey and then press a key from the keyboard that you want to use for push to talk. By default, it’s set to space. Similarly, you can toggle the mute on the join option as well.
