Here’s a list of 5 free equalizer apps for Android. With these equalizer apps you’ll be able to change audio settings of your phone so that they are better suited to the type of music that you’re currently playing. But I don’t need to explain what equalizer apps are. All these equalizer apps are available for free from the Google Play Store.
Let’s see what exactly does Google Play has to offer in the equalizer department.
Equalizer by Smart Android Apps
After installing Equalizer by Smart Android Apps and after running it of course, it will ask permission to become the default equalizer app on your phone.
Equalizer comes with audio presets for the standard music profiles like rock, hip hop, pop, jazz, heavy metal, folk, latin, classical and more. There’s also an auto-detect feature which once activated will automatically change the equalizer settings to the type of music that you’re playing. Manual equalizer tweaking is also possible.
Music Volume EQ
Music Volume EQ works as a simplistic pop-up audio equalizer. You can see it in action on the image down below.
This is actually the more advanced panel, where there are more dials to flip through. By default only the music volume dial is shown. There are 9 music presets that you can apply and there are also widgets that you can use for adjusting audio settings on the fly.

Music Equalizer Pro
Music Equalizer Pro looks and works similarly to how Music Volume EQ does. This equalizer app also works as a pop-up, while at the same time it doesn’t just allow you to change equalizer settings, it also comes with a volume booster.
Interface design looks more modern, it’s slicker and there are 9 equalizer presets that you can use.

Despite its name, Bass Booster isn’t just for boosting the bass. It’s a full-fledged equalizer that can be used to adjust your music profile to other types of music as well.
I gotta say that music sounds very good when it’s being filtered by Bass Booster. It really looks like a professional app that was created by people who know what they’re doing. Equalizer has close to 20 audio profiles.

Equalizer + mp3 Player Volume
If you are thinking about changing not just your equalizer app, but also the default audio player app that you’re using, you might want to checkout Equalizer + mp3 Player Volume.
Here you get an equalizer with dozens of presets, a music player and all that is packed in a very nice looking UI. More advanced features are available like bass boost and song fade in transition effects, but they will require a paid upgrade.
From the 5 equalize app that I covered above I have 2 favorites, Equalizer + mp3 Player Volume and Bass Booster. These two offered the best quality of sound and Equalizer + mp3 Player Volume even has a built-in music player, what more could you ask. Let me know what you think in comments down below.
