Here’s is a list of 5 of the Best Excel Viewer apps for Android. These apps will allow you to view Spreadsheets, mostly of .xls format, on your Android device. Most of the apps in the list below will also allow you to Edit those Spreadsheet files, and some even give you desktop-like features on your Android. All of these Spreadsheet Viewer and Editor apps are available for free on the Play Store. Take a look yourself!

1. Google Sheets

Google Sheets for Android

The name says it all. Google Sheets for Android is the software specifically optimized for your Google Android devices. While some Android devices might come pre-installed with it, you can always head over to the Play Store to get it if that’s not the case. Google Sheets lets you open, view and Edit any Spreadsheets that you might have on your device. Not just that, it has tight integration with Google Drive and hence lets you edit the Spreadsheets stored on your Google Drive on-the-go.

2. Docs Viewer

Docs Viewer for Android

Docs Viewer for Android does exactly and as much as its name suggests — it just lets you view any spreadsheet (or document) that you have. It has no Settings, no extra options. Even when you open it from your app drawer, it will only give you the option to browse and select the file you want to open. And, since it does not have any extra features whatsoever, it is extremely responsive at what it does. You can NOT edit your spreadsheets with it, and as you select any file, they are firstly uploaded to the Internet and then the app opens it. This is so because the Docs Viewer shows you the file using Google Docs only (not to be confused with the Google Docs Android app which is a Document Editor). Give it a try, it’s extremely light-weight and zippy.

3. Microsoft Office Mobile

Microsoft Office Mobile

This was expected, wasn’t it? Microsoft has been a name to reckon with in the Office space, and the Microsoft Office for Mobile doesn’t disappoint. It requires you to sign-in to your Microsoft Account first, and then lets you access all your OneDrive files easily. You can open and Edit Spreadsheets, and all other Office Files as well! It is completely free to download and use, and is among the most compelling options on any Mobile Platform. Give it a try now if you haven’t yet.

4. Polaris Office

Polaris Office for Android

Polaris Office is another Excel viewer in this list. It is actually an all-in-one Office Suite which lets you view all kinds of Office Files. Polaris has an intuitive user interface which is easy on the eyes and yet performs as you’d expect it to. It opened the Excel files (both xls and xlsx) I threw at it almost flawlessly, and the stutter or lag that other competing apps suffer from when opening heavy files, was much less pronounced here. Creating a Polaris Account also gives you 1 GB of free storage, so that’s another plus right there.

5. Docs to Go

Docs to Go for Android

Docs to Go for Android is another impressive spreadsheet viewer for Android. It is an Office replacement which can open all your Docs and Sheets. The app is extremely responsive, and I was surprised to see that it hardly lags (even though it takes a while to load certain spreadsheets). The user interface of this app sure is outdated and needs an overhaul. I also think that some of the ads in the app are a bit too intrusive for my liking. You can go ahead and get Docs to Go for free from the Google Play Store.

So that’s all for now! The above list of 5 of the Best Spreadsheet Viewer Apps for Android should be enough to take care of your Viewing, and even Editing needs in regards to Excel Files. Which one of the above did you like the most? Don’t forget to comment!
