VClip is a free screen recorder that lets you save the output as animated GIF, OGG, WEBM, AVI, and MP4 format. Every traditional desktop recording software gives you the feature to save output in MP4 or AVI, but saving the output in animated GIF, OGG, and WEBM is quite rare.

One of the best features that I find in this free screen recorder is that once you have record the desktop screen, you can save the output in all the available formats one after another. Normally, when we record desktop, we can select only one output format to save the recording, and then we start again from the beginning (or use a video converter software), but VClip doesn’t come with this restriction. You can select one format and save the output, then select another format, and so on.

Apart from these features, it also lets you select the frame rate to record the desktop. Moreover, it also records system sound, but can’t help you record your own voice along with screen recording. Overall it is a very good screen recording software.

Using This Free Screen Recorder Software:

Here is the download link of this software. Download its zip file and extract it. Double-click its portable application and its simple interface will be in front of you.

VClip- interface

Its interface has only two buttons, Rec and Save, which are self- explanatory. There are two drop down icons are also available just adjacent to those two buttons. You can use those icons to set the frame rate (15, 25, 30 FPS) and output format.

Now adjust the size of its interface and start the recording. When the recording is done, stop it and use Save button to save your output to the desired location.

After saving the output file, you can also change the format, and save your output in another format.

The Verdict:

I am highly impressed with its features to choose from the multiple output formats and save output in different formats. It competes well with other screen recording software as well as animated GIF recorders. However, it is also true that as an animated GIF recorder, the software doesn’t provide advanced features, like preview recording and remove frames from recording. I personally like and use Gooncam for recording the screen in animated GIF format. However, VClip is a fantastic option if you need a combo of screen recorder and animated GIF recorder.
