Inactivity Reminder is a free Chrome inactivity reminder you can use to get alerts after specified minutes of inactivity. This is a simple Chrome extension in which you can specify the time in minutes and then it will display a notification if Chrome remains idle for that amount of time. After adding the extension, you can just start it and let it run behind the scene. It will automatically alert you whenever there is inactivity. The extension is very simple and you can use it very easily in any Chromium-based browser.
Many times people just get distracted from their work and leave their browsers. Most people do that and start using their phones and lost track of time and work. This is a useful extension for those people as it will keep reminding them to get back to work after it detects certain inactivity in the browser. This is as simple as that. The extension I have added here is open source and you will have to manually install it. Not only this, maybe in the next update there will be a feature to get notifications on other devices.
How to use Chrome Inactivity Reminder to Alert After Specified Minutes of Inactivity?
This extension is not available on Chrome Web Store right now so you will have to install it manually. You can clone the GitHub repository of Inactivity-Reminder from here and then proceed with the installation. To install the extension manually, go to Chrome’s extension page and make sure developer mode is enabled. Next, you can use the “Load Unpacked” option and locate the folder where you have extracted the GitHub repository.
Now, you can simply start using the extension for good. Click on its toolbar icon and set the inactivity time interval. The time is to be specified in minutes and then you can start it. The icon of the extension will be changed and whenever now it detects inactivity longer than specified time then it will throw desktop alerts.
In the screenshots above, you can see how to configure and use this simple piece of Chrome extension. The process is very simple and you can just use it to remind you to get back to work. Just set the time interval in minutes and then simply start the monitoring process. This is as simple as that.
There are some software available to alert on your PC inactivity but if you need a tool for browser then Inactivity-Reminder is one of the best plugins you can use. Just use it and then simply specify the inactivity detection timer. The only issue is that it is not available on the Chrome store, other than that it works fine and very useful.
