How many times has it happened that when you come across a medical jargon you scramble around different websites to find the meaning for it. Even when you are researching about some medical condition, you end up seeing more complicated medical terms within the article. So what is the solution to this problem. The solution is Iodine’s medical translator extension for Chrome browser.

This medical translator is a Chrome extension which converts medical jargons to simple English.

The extension can be installed easily like any other. Just click the link given at the end of this article to install this extension. Once installed, you will see an icon of this extension in your address bar. Now when you open a website which contains medical jargons, they will be highlighted with a blue underline. When you hover over these underlined words, a pop up will show up to explain that medical term in simple words. Like shown in the screenshot below.

Each page which has medical terms in it, will also have a notification bar appear at the top of the page. This notification bar just informs you that the page contains medical terms and the terms are highlighted with blue underlines. It also shows you two buttons, one is for sharing this pages url with a friend by copying the url and emailing it. The second button has a options drop down menu.

medical translator options

This menu has option to send feedback about the extension, read more about it, uninstall the extension, or it even has an option to add a website to the never translate list. This particular option adds the websites you choose to a block list. So websites added in this block list will not show these translations.
