Undoubtedly one of the most feature heavy Windows releases ever, Windows 10 is jam-packed with all kinds of visual goodness and productivity enhancements. Apart from that, there are apps designed to help you make the most of your busy day. Case in point is the Calendar app, which can single handedly take care of all your appointments, daily agenda, and a whole lot more. Now, due to their inherent nature, there are some services that require access to the Calendar for their proper functioning. But that can also be a little problematic from the privacy point of view.
Fret not, as Windows 10 easily lets you disable calendar access by apps. What’s more, you can even configure calendar access for individual apps. Sounds like something you can use? Let’s find out how you can disable calendar access by apps in Windows 10.
How To Disable Calendar Access By Apps In Windows 10?
It’s actually incredibly straightforward to prevent modern apps from accessing your calendar (and all the information it has) in Windows 10. Keep reading to see how it’s done, courtesy of a nicely laid out illustrative walkthrough:
Step 1: As is pretty much always the case when it comes to tinkering with Windows 10, open up the Settings app. Now, click on the Privacy sub-category.
Step 2: You should now be gazing at a familiar looking dual-pane layout. Click on Calendar on the left, and direct your attention to the right. Lastly, under the Calendar sub-section, turn the virtual toggle button marked with the words Let apps access my calendar to Off. If you want to specify calendar access on a per-app basis, you can easily do so via the individual toggle buttons corresponding to the apps listed under the Choose apps that can access calendar sub-section. And we’re all set. Can’t get any easier than that, right?
