GrammarBase is an incredibly useful free website to check grammar online. GrammarBase provides you an easy to use and simple method to check your writing for any and all sorts of grammatical errors. It provides accurate detection of various common grammatical flaws like spelling errors, punctuation mistakes, contextual errors etc. In addition, GrammarBase can also detect incorrect use of modifiers, prepositions, quantifiers and things like that. Once done checking, GrammarBase clearly indicates all the errors found in your writing by highlighting them. You can also click on a detected error to see a small pop-up that explains what kind of error it is. Sounds like something you could use to proofread your book reports? Let’s find out more.
GrammarBase: User Interface
One of the best things about GrammarBase (apart from the fact that it’s free) is that it can be used directly. Granted, there is an option to create an account, but that is completely optional. An account is needed only if you need to see things like history/statistics of the mistakes found in your checked textual matter. Other than that, there’s nothing that creating a free account gives you. All you have to do is go to GrammarBase’s homepage, and get checking. Here’s how the website’s interface looks like:
Exceedingly simple, don’t you think? As illustrated by the above screenshot, the user interface of GrammarBase, while being quite busy, is as simple as it gets. Essentially, there’s just a text box where you have to either type, or paste the textual content that you want to check for any kind of grammatical errors. To its right, a simple info graphic clearly explains what GrammarBase is, and what it does. That’s just about it. Quite simple!
How To Use This Free Website To Check Grammar Online?
Using GrammarBase to check your writing(s) for any kind of Grammatical errors is extremely easy. It literally takes a click or two. All you need to have is the text that you want to get checked. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Type or Paste the textual content (e.g. a web article, essay, or just about anything) in the box marked with Check Your Text for Mistakes title (You can also use the Try service with sample text link to directly add a sample text fragment to be checked in the box). Once done, click the button that says Start checking.
Step 2: That’s it. Once you click on the Start Checking button, GrammarBase works its magic for a few moments, and then returns the errors found. All of the detected instances of Grammatical errors (punctuation mistakes, spelling mistakes, incorrect usage of identifiers etc.) are underlined in different colors to distinguish one type of error from another. You can also click on each underlined error to know more about it. Check out the following animated graphic, illustrating the same:
Pretty awesome, isn’t it? That’s all it takes to check your text for any and all kinds of grammatical errors.
