In this post here, you will learn how to try on clothes virtually on yourself using Walmart app. The new Walmart app has been updated with a feature called “Be Your Own Model”. This feature intends to let you try clothes that you browse on Walmart app before actually buying them. It can now turn your full body photo into a model on which you can try clothes virtually with the help of AR technology. For now, you can try shirts and tops in the women’s lifestyle section of the app.
Not all the products are supported for Be Your Own Model feature but the ones from popular brand such as Scoop support this. Any product that supports this feature will have a “Try it on” tag on top of it which you can use to activate it. But I should mention that it is not as straightforward as it seems. If you want to try clothes on yourself then you will first have to create a model after specifying your height and size information.
How to Try on Clothes Virtually on Yourself using Walmart App?
Trying on clothes on Walmart app is now very easy. Just update the app to the latest version. After that, you just need to find a clothing item that supports this feature. I will recommend you to browse through the clothes from Scoop. If a product supports this then it will show you a popup like this.
You now tap on the option and then it will ask where you would like to try it. You can either opt to create your own model. Or existing one in the app itself.
If you chose to select your own model then you will have to create it first. For that, you just open the camera and capture your full body picture in tight shorts. The camera of the app will guide you through the processes. After specifying capturing the perfect body photo, you just specify your size details and then you are done.
Now, whenever you need to try it on clothes, you just choose your model and then try the clothes. It is like a virtual dressing room where you can actually see how you will look in a certain clothing item. It generates model images with the selected clothes on in different views. You also have the freedom to switch to another model as well in case you want to try a different size.
This is all about this feature now and I hope they refine it in the future updates. Right now, this feature is supported on over 270000 women clothing items.
If you like to shop online but often feel skeptical about a clothing item that, how will it look on you then this new virtual dressing room by Walmart is a good option. I hope more eCommerce platforms introduce this feature as it will be convenient for a user to buy clothing items quickly.
