SEOnaut is a free self-hosted SEO audit tool to analyze websites. Here you can use it to audit any website for SEO issues. It generates a detailed report of a website after crawling through all the pages. It scans all the links that it finds on your website and keeps their status code too. Not only that, but it scans websites for broken images and broken links and generates downloadable reports.

It treats each website as a separate project. You can create as many projects as you want, and even opt for weekly crawling to atomically discover issues on your website. After analyzing the report that it generates, you can share that with others such as developers or teammates or even clients.

While it is scanning a website, you can see the progress of the analysis. If pages on your website have issues from SEO point of view, then it will show you in the final report. It generates a pie chart for the report as well to show you how many links are okay and how many of those have issues. Besides link checking, it also checks a website for sitemap and robots.txt file.

In this way, you can use SEOnaut to scan a website for SEO related issues. It is like any website that we have covered for checking issues. For now, it is in development and you can peek into its source code if you want in its GitHub repository here. What I would really like to see in this tool is a web vitals checker that will indicate performance and accessibility score of a website.

Closing thoughts:

If you are in search for a self-hosted SEO audit tool, then you are at the right place. The biggest advantage you will get is that it will not put any restrictions on how many times you can use it. Being open source, you will have the freedom to use it however you see it fit.
