In this game, you are given a board of puzzle with many different shapes. You need to fill the blank cells of the board with different colorful shapes, like Dots, Triangles, Squares, and Diamonds.
You need to fill the blank cells in such a way that each row, column, and box contains every shape. This is similar to as we do in Sudoku that each number should be used.
However, the game does not stops at that only.
As I mentioned above, it has features of Flow game as well. Other than Dot shape, all shapes should be neighbors of each other, so that they are connected to each other, like in Flow.
The challenge of the game is not over yet.
You can place only particular number of shapes in each box, row, and column. The number varies as per the size of the board. For example: In 6*6 board you can connect only three square shapes, two triangle shapes and can insert only single dot in each row, column, and box (as shown in below screenshot).
The game has more than 200 puzzles to solve. It has four board sizes to chose from: 6*6, 8*8, 9*9, and 12*12. For each board, there are multiple difficulty levels as well.
The game has a very clean interface with great graphics. The puzzles have nice difficulty progression. It manages to keep you busy for hours.
The download size of the game is just around 12 MB.
Gameplay of this Windows 8 Puzzle Game FlowDoku:
You can get FlowDoku game app free from Windows store by using the link given at the end of this review.
After launching the game app, you will find three options: Play, Info, and Settings. Click on Play button to start the game.
After clicking on play, you will be given four options to chose a board size to play: 6*6, 8*8, 9*9, and 12*12. Chose a board size as per your skills.
After choosing board size, chose the difficulty level. Each board size has different difficulty levels. The bigger the board size, the harder is the difficulty level.
Select a puzzle from the difficulty level you have chosen and then click on Play.
You will find a board with different shapes on the board. The board is divided into different boxes and cells (like in Sudoku). The board already contains few shapes which can’t be changed or removed. You need to fill the empty boxes with all the available shapes. Below the board, you will see how many objects of each shape are available. You need to ensure that exactly same number of objects are used in each row, column, and rectangle.
For example, in the board below, you can see the number of shapes that you can insert in each box: 5 diamonds, three squares, two triangles, and two dots. Each row, column, and box should be filled with these number of shapes only.
Apart from limit on number of objects of each shape that can be used, this game has two additional rules as well, to make things even more interesting:
Rule 1: Each row, column and boxe should contain all the shapes displayed on the board. Each board has specified number of shapes to fill the cells with. You need to fill the board with that specific number of shapes only.
Rule 2: In each box, matching shapes must be next to each other so that they are connected.
To fill any cell, click on that cell. A random shape will appear on that particular cell. To change the shape, click on the cell again.
Similarly fill all the cells to solve the puzzle. But remember all puzzles have single solution. Use you puzzle solving skills and enjoy the game.
A timer runs to track the time you take to solve the puzzle. After solving puzzle, you can see the points you have earned, as per the time you took.
FlowDoku is an interesting and addictive puzzle game for Windows 8. The unique and interesting thing about this game is that it combines the concept of two famous games: Flow and Sudoku. The best thing I like about this game is that it has many different levels to play. If you like Flow, Sudoku or any puzzle game, then you will surely enjoy this game.
