I have been using Linux for sometime now on one of my laptops. I started with Ubuntu Desktop edition, and switched to Ubuntu Netbook Remix recently. Even though Linux has nowadays come pretty close to Windows, and moving from Windows to Linux is not as difficult as it used to be; still a newbie could stumble at a lot of places. Even understanding the folder structure can become tricky sometime.
Here is a small ebook that is targeted especially towards newbies: A Newbie’s Getting Started Guide to Linux
This is an illustrated ebook that answers most of the question that a newbie would have about a Linux system. This makes Linux experience a lot easier and better. So, if you have been planning to play around with Linux (may be in Live CD form), this free ebook would be a good stepping stone.
