ChicaPC-Shield is a free malware scanner that scans your PC for any malware or malicious software. If it finds any infected files, it removes the infection to clean up your computer. ChicaPC-Shield has a very simple to use interface, and can be run anytime. It is especially helpful to protect against infections that come from social networking websites like Facebook, and Twitter.
Before we go further, I need to make a few things clear about this free virus scanner :)
- This is not a replacement for your free antivirus software. This will just scan your PC when you ask it to, and remove any detected infections. But it does not prevents your files from getting infected. So, make sure you have a good antivirus also installed and running for proactive protection against viruses.
- The free version is not real-time in nature. You can run it whenever you want to.

After that, ChicaPC-Shield will scan your computer for all types of malware, and will report the detected infections. You can use ChicaPC-Shield to remove those infections as well. This is a nice feature, as many other similar free software just offer infection detection, but ask you for money to clean those infections.
Some other malware scanners we reviewed earlier include Hitman Pro, and Immunos malware scanner. Such software are useful to run once in a while, just to confirm that your antivirus software is not missing infections.
Its worth mentioning here that ChicaPC-Shield is heavily pitched towards women. Though there is nothing in the software that makes it useful for women only, but probably company is trying to find a new niche to sell its security products too. Nice approach :)
