Will this work to password protect a folder within the dropbox folder? I’m not too concerned with data within my dropbox being seen by others but I would like to save a list of all my passwords in my dropbox folder and I WOULD like to protect that.

Or if you know of a simpler way that I can manage/secure passwords I’d like to hear about it. Just figured dropbox is the simplest as it is also on my phone and can be accessed via website from anywhere.

    Thanks for any feedback.

In regards to my earlier comment…I was just unsure if the software is on the home based computer if it would still be accessible from my mobile or if I’d be able to unlock from a different computer (via the dropbox website).

my lockbox has on settings “trusted processes” option so you could add dropbox process to this list in order to access it even if folder is hidden and protected for other processes and user

@daniel: You are awesome. That’s such a neat trick. I have added that to my setting now. Thank you :)

Be careful! When you add Dropbox.exe as a “trusted process”, then anybody can go to “preferences” of Dropbox app itself and move the Drobbox folder to another public location and voila! the secret is gone… and all your files are exposed. Of course, this is not fault of My Lockbox since you put Dropbox as a “trusted process”.

My opinion is then don’t let any process get inside the locked folder unless YOU are personally working on your PC with the unlocked folder.

Other than that, great application, it does what it promises.

Will this prevent the evil villain to just right click the Dropbox symbol and access your online Dropbox account?
