We recently wrote about Amazon Cloud Drive that gives 5 GB free space for online backup and storage. Amazon did not provide any good desktop client for it by default, so any documents had to be manually uploaded. Now, Gladinet has come out with support for Amazon Cloud Drive in Gladinet Starter – the free version of Gladinet desktop client. You can use Gladinet as Desktop client for Amazon Cloud Drive.

A great feature that Gladinet provides is that you can access Amazon Cloud Drive like a Windows folder. You will be able to save files in it from any application, and those files will be directly saved in your Amazon Cloud Drive folder. All the changes that you make in your Gladinet folder will be immediately synced with your Amazon Cloud Drive account.

Gladinet Cloud Drive

Gladinet is extremely easy to use. Download and install it, and then provide your Amazon Cloud Drive credentials. It will start showing Amazon Cloud Drive as another drive in your Windows Explorer. You can access this drive from Windows Explorer itself, or from any other program.

Gladinet Desktop also adds as an icon in system tray. From that, you can quickly access Amazon Cloud Drive online, or setup backup and sync.

In my original article about Amazon Cloud Drive, I had almost written it off because I did not find it too comfortable to use in comparison with Dropbox. However, Gladinet makes Amazon Cloud Drive a worthy competitor again. You can sync any folder with Amazon Cloud Drive, and backup your data to Amazon Cloud Drive using this free Amazon Cloud Drive desktop client.

Good job Gladinet :)
