Featmap is a free self-hosted user story mapping tool to plan, build product backlogs. This is a simple tool that focuses on user stories entirely. You add multiple projects here along with the activities and get a shareable URL as well. It comes with a simple interface where you can organize all the backlogs and change their status anytime. You can list all the milestones there as well and then simply share with clients or other teammates for evaluation. However, the designs in the shared mode will be in read only mode.
The user story mapping comes with many agile project management tools already. But if you only need to manage the backlogs then you will need a dedicated tool for this and Featmap is one of those tools. Here you just create a free account or you can host it yourself by getting one of its binaries. You can get it up and running in a few clicks and then start using it. On the main interface, you create a project and then simply start planning the backlogs and then you can save them there.
Free Self Hosted User Story Mapping Tool to Plan, Build Product Backlogs:
There are two different ways to use this user story mapping tool to plan, build, product backlogs. You can either go with the self hosted version, or you can use the online hosted version available. But I will advise you to go with the self hosted version because I think the online version is for demonstration purpose only and may not available in the future.
So, just create an account and then on the main UI, you will have to create a project first. Give your project a name and then you can simply start adding goals, activities, and backlogs.
When you scroll down to the bottom, you can add releases there and then save the changes. In the same way, you can add multiple projects here and create as many backlogs as you wish to. You can further add description to each card that you add here and it will organize that by itself.
Next thing you can do here is share your project space with anyone you want. You can get link to the project activities from the project dashboard and then send that to anyone you like. The project will be shared in read only mode and then end user on the other hand can opt to see the milestones which have been closed.
In this way, you can use this simple and effective user stories mapping tool to easy plan backlogs and then mark them complete when you accomplish them.
