TimeGuessr is a free game in which you have to guess the year in which shown photograph was taken along with its location. If you think this game would be easy, well it is not. Guessing the location and the year by just looking at a photograph is difficult. Location for some photographs you might be able to guess, but thinking of the year is the tricky part.
Obviously, most of the people will not be able to answer accurately. Hence, the points in the game depend upon how close your guess was to the actual year and place.
Let’s see how this game is played:
First of all open this game page using the link given at the end.
On this page click on the play button to start the game. The next screen you see will look like the screenshot below.
You can see that there is a picture shown on the left side of the screen. A map is given on the right side of the screen. Below the map is a slider which you have to move and guess a year which the picture on the left belongs to. Then you have to guess a location for this picture and drop a pin on the map. Once you are all set you can click the make your guess button at the bottom.
On the next screen you will be the correct answer and you will also be told how accurate you were in your answer. Like my guess for the picture was about 13 years off then when the picture was originally taken. Also the location was off by 1642 kms. So on the right side bottom you can see that I have been awarded points based on the guess that I made.
The points for year and location are both given out of 5000. The more accurate you are, more points you can score. Your total points out of 10000 are carried over to the next round.
At the end of 5 rounds you are shown your final score, as can be seen in the screenshot above. If you are not satisfied with your score, you can click on the try again button.
Summary:
TimeGuessr is a fun game app where you have to guess the year a picture belongs to along with its location. When you look at the pictures you will have a hard time guessing which year they belong to. Overall, I liked this game and its worth trying out once. I was able to guess couple of locations pretty accurately, but when it came time to guess the year, that became the difficult part.
