Here is a list of 5 websites to download free vector icons and/or images.
Although there are two well known websites, Shutterstock and iStock, available to get vector icons or images, but they come with premium subscriptions. So I created this list of some good websites that lets you download and use vector images (in AI, PSD, EPS, etc. format) for free.
You can use downloaded icons or images absolutely free, but most of the websites require you to credit the author when using a particular image. Some images can also be used without attribution.
So let’s start with the first website to download free vector icons.
Flaticon
Flaticon is one of the best sites in this list to grab free vector icons. It contains more than 1100 packs and each pack includes dozens of icons. There are categories available that make it easy for users to download vector icons of their interest. Available categories are: Signs, Buildings, Networks, Multimedia, Art, Technology, etc.
You can also download icons by authors or trending icons of the current day. Good thing is that you are free to either download a single icon or the whole icon pack. You can download an icon or icon pack in PSD, EPS, PNG, and/or SVG format.
The downloaded icons can be used for the personal or commercial purpose. However, you must credit the author to use a particular vector icon.
365PSD.com
365PSD is also a good choice to download vector images, PSD graphics, and logo designs. Millions of free and premium graphics available to choose from. The interesting part is that some files don’t require attribution. However to use some other images, you have to give credit to the author.
It provides separate sections to find free vector images, PSD graphics, and premium files. Apart from this, each individual section has categories to make it easy for you to filter the files and download them.
Before downloading the set of icons or a particular file, you have to share it either on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, or other social accounts. However, the good thing is that you have to do this only once, and then you can download other icons directly.
Freepik
Freepik also has a huge database of vector files, but as a free user, you can download 60 images in a day. You must also credit the author to use the images. You can browse popular and latest vectors and also search for vector files using the keywords.
It has also added icons into the categories to easily find them. You can explore Animals, Banners, Buttons, Christmas, Icons, Halloween, Nature, Map, Wedding, Web Templates, and other categories, and download the icons as AI and EPS files.
Vecteezy
Vecteezy, here you can find more than 9000 vector art. You can either use keywords, tags, or explore the categories to find the vector files of your interest. You can read the summary about a particular art and it also provides suggestions based on the selected category or art.
Downloading the images and using them is free of course, but yes, you should give the credit to the author. If you want, you can also search for premium arts by upgrading with a paid plan. Then you will be able to grab premium arts and royalty-free licensing to use those images.

Another good website that I can recommend to download free vector icons is 1001FreeDownloads.com. Thousands of free vector images, icons, fonts, styles, brushes, textutres, clipart, and other items available that you can use for free or commercial use. However, you must check the license while downloading a particular file to see if you can use the file without attribution, for commercial use, and with attribution.
Searhing the images, fonts, or icons is really easy with this website as you can select the type of item you are looking for and then start the search. Everything is really good in this website, but you can download only 50 files per day.
Conclusion:
You may find many other websites to download free vector icons, but their database is very limited. Websites in this list have tons of vector images and other photos that you can download and use for free. However, among these websites, I will personally prefer Flaticon and 365PSD websites.
