Pronounce Names is a free website which helps you pronounce difficult names. Sometimes you find yourself in a difficult situation when you don’t know how a certain persons name is pronounced. Instead of embarrassing yourself in front of that person you decide to go with sir or mam. Which in turn sounds very formal. So how can you avoid doing this, simple by using this website or its Android app. The website shows you the pronunciation of a name when you enter it on the website.

On the home page of the website it gives you a few names and their pronunciations are listed. Apart from that if you are looking for pronunciation of a particular name, then you can enter that word in the search box given above and search for its right pronunciation. The search box is for searching for a particular name you are having difficulty pronouncing. The browse names button will let you browse names alphabetically. Like shown in the screenshot below. It will list all the alphabets and you can search for names with each alphabet.
When you check out the pronunciation of a name by clicking on it, you will see a window like the one shown below.
You are shown the pronunciation of the name along with it you can listen to a audio file to check out how the name is pronounced correctly. Most names also have videos on how that particular name is pronounced. The origin of that name is also shown.
There is another button on the home page which says “pronunciations requested”. Clicking this will open a long list of names for which the website does not have pronunciations yet. In case you are familiar with one or some of the names, then you can go ahead and submit the correct pronunciation of that name to the website.
