Foxit PDF Reader has been a pretty popular PDF reader for Windows platform and is one the more popular alternative for Adobe PDF reader. The same guys have developed the Windows 8 version of Foxit PDF Reader which has been recently launched. The app allows you to open up PDF files, view PDF files etc. The UI of Foxit PDF Reader For Windows 8 is quite simple which makes using the application a breeze. This free PDF reader for Windows 8 is available in the ‘books & reference’ section of the Windows Store.
You can download Foxit PDF reader for Windows 8 from link available at the end. When Foxit PDF Reader for Windows 8 starts up, the app interface looks like the screenshot below:
Now here you will be shown two tags: one called browser and the other recent files. The recent file section of the app will be empty when you run the app for the first time. As you keep using this app, this section will be populated by the files that you open so that you can quickly open your recently accessed files with just one click.
To open up a PDF file in this PDF reader for Windows 8, simply click on the browser option and you will be taken to the interface as shown below in the screenshot. To select a PDF file, just click on it and it will be highlighted as seen below; now click on the open button which is located in the botton right corner of the app window and you will have successfully opened up your PDF file in Windows 8.
Once PDF file is open, Foxit PDF Reader for Windows 8 shows an additional menu, as shown below in the screenshot. This menu is not visible by default. To bring it up, simply right-click anywhere in the app window and you will be presented with the option menu as shown below.
This option menu provides with different set of features like the ability to search for things in the PDF, switch the viewing mode between single and continuous, open and save PDF files. Also, clicking on the ‘more’ button located in the far right corner of the app will bring up the two options name : rotation and properties. When you use the properties options, you will be presented with the pop up as shown below that will display the properties of the document that you are viewing.
