Virgo is a free and the smallest virtual desktop software available over the web. It’s only 8 KB in size and comes with 4 virtual desktops. I know it’s surprising, but it’s true.
So far, we have tested and covered a lot of free virtual desktop software. Some are rich in features, others support a huge number of virtual desktops and a lot of other tools, but this one is insanely simple and the smallest virtual desktop I have ever seen.
Even though it’s just 8 KB in size, it has interesting features. For example, you can use preset hotkeys to switch to any virtual desktop. Moreover, it also supports feature to move an active application or folder to any virtual desktop.
In the screenshot above, you can see system tray of my PC with numbers to show which desktop I am currently using. Guys, this is the only thing I can show you related to this software. It doesn’t have any interface, content menu, or configuration settings window.
How to Use This Free and Smallest Virtual Desktop Software?
Use this link to open the homepage of this software and grab its zip archive. The archive is just 4 KB which is another surprising thing. When you have downloaded the zip file, extract it. After this, you can access and launch its 8 KB application file. That’s it. You won’t find any tray icon or other options.
To move to a particular desktop, say desktop 2, you can use Alt+2 hotkey. In the similar way, you can switch between virtual and original desktops using Alt+ (1-4) hotkeys.
When you have to move a particular application to a specific desktop, use Ctrl+(1-4) hotkeys according to your requirement.
