Essential Weather free Windows 8 weather app that bring you detailed weather information in a simple interface. Essential Weather is completely free and is available in the ‘news and weather section’ in the Windows Store.
This Windows 8 weather app is fast and fluid, and it is quite light weight: just under a MB. Essential Weather provides you with the weather details in 7 days overview or 48 hour overview. The 48 hour overview provides you with detailed graphs that plot the average, max, and min temperature.

You can download Essential Weather for Windows 8 using link available at end of the post. After installation, just start it and you will be greeted by the screen below.
Here you are supposed to enter the name of the city whose weather you would like to know and then click on the search button and you will be presented with the set of locations. Click on any one of your choice to add them to the app or you can simply let the app decide by clicking on the ‘Use current location’ button.
After you have entered the location, you will have the interface in front of you as shown in the first screenshot of the interface. There you will be presented with a 7 days overview of the weather of the location. As you can see the interface of this Windows 8 weather app is quite simple and can be easily understood by anyone.
Now if you would like to see the weather in an interface that gives you all the details for the last 48 hours then you can simply click on the arrow button located in the right side of app window as seen in the first screenshot of the article. After clicking on the arrow button you will have the interface in front of you as shown above. Here you are provided with detailed information about the weather which is broken down into intervals of 3 hours. Also you are provided with a graph that shows you how the weather has changed in 48 hours.
