How to use Xylophone 8?
You can download this app from Windows 8 store or by clicking on the link given at the end of this review. After successful installation, launch the app. You will find different options on the right side of the screen: Display Notation, European Notation, and Keyboard Support.
- Display Notation: This option lets you display the notation on the screen.
- European Notation: You can display some European notation with this option.
- Keyboard Support: If you want you can display the different shortcut keys on the bars of the instruments.
In the center of the screen you will find 6 different instruments: Marimba, Vibraphone, Xylophone, Glockenspiel, Xylo Toy, and Tubular bell.
- Marimba: Marimba is an instrument of percussion family. It has rectangular bars that create music . It can be used for marching bands and with many other forms of music. This option produces music which is similar to the music produced by real Marimba.
- Vibraphone: Vibraphone is an instrument in the struck idiophone and also a sub family of percussion. It contains bar in rectangular form. You can use this with jazz music or with any other music as well. It produces sound with the help of vibration among the bars.
- Xylophone: This option lets you play the real xylophone. It produces sound similar to that of wooden instruments.
- Glockenspiel: Glockenspiel’s keys are set like that of piano except for the fact that it is made of metals. It produces metallic music.
- Tubular bell: This instrument is made up of tube shaped hollow bars (commonly known as chimes). It is tuned by altering the length of the bar.
