Block Dangerous Flashing GIFs to avoid Seizure
Epilepsy Blocker is a simple to use extension that you can get for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. All you have to do is get respective extension for your web browser and that’s. Once installed, the extension automatically analyzes GIFs on almost all the webpages you open. It runs a real-time analysis as you scroll the page.
It does not let a GIF to load before analyzing and only shows the GIFs that it found safe. The GIFs that have flashing lights or other light effects are considered dangerous and are hidden from the sight. You get a “GIF is dangerous” message in red color in place of such flashy GIFs. But if you still want to access the GIF, you can do that by clicking on it.
Along with analyzing and blocking the dangerous GIF, this tool keeps stats of the GIFs as well. When you tap the extension button in your browser, it shows you the total number of GIFs analyzed, Safe GIFs, and Dangerous GIFs.
Below the stat, it features two sliders, one for break & hydration reminder and one for blue tint. The break and hydration reminder allows you to get reminders for every 15, 30, or 45 minutes to take a break. And, the blue tint slider offers several levels of blue light filters.
Epilepsy Blocker is a handy extension that automatically detects the visually harmful GIFs and blocks them. It’s very useful for people who are dealing with epilepsy disorder. This extension works well on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc. but it didn’t work for me on GIF search engines like GIPHY, Tenor, etc.
