This tutorial explains how to add custom text to link in Instagram story. Recently Instagram enabled links in stories for everyone and now with a new update yesterday, you can assign a custom text to the link that you want to create. Before this, link itself used to appear as text that you add to story but now, you can kind of create it as a hyperlink.
Adding links in stories help you quickly share some online content or resource with your friends and family. For eCommerce platforms it is a way of driving traffic to their website. So, no matter the use case, you can now use custom text for links and I will show you how. This is also helpful in concealing long or difficult domain names in URLs.
I have Instagram beta and I can use this new customs text feature. But if you don’t have this then you probably have to wait a bit before it arrives for all the Instagram users.
How to Add Custom Text to Link in Instagram Story?
Assuming you have the latest Instagram app, you just open it and then create a new story. Select the links sticker after that and see newly added option.
After selecting the link sticker, it asks you to enter a link. And along with the link, you can tap on the “+” option to add a custom text for it as well.
So, just finish it off and then set it as story. You can now use the link sticker in this way to post links in stories with custom text. Just like hyperlinks.
If you are using the latest version of the official Instagram app then you might have this feature already. You can now go ahead and try it on iOS and Android easily. And if you don’t have option to create hyper links in Instagram story then just wait a bit.
If you usually add links in stories then it might be a great news for you that you can now add links with custom text. Just create as many hyperlinks in IG Stories as you want and post them. It is simple as that and who knows if they refine this feature in the coming updates by adding more customization options.
