This is a free Browser Extension available for Google Chrome and Firefox that automatically saves your ChatGPT conversations locally in your browser. You can access the saved threads anytime you desire through a ‘Chat History’ button that is placed at the top right of your ChatGPT window. You can also download the saved threads to your local system in HTML format if you choose to follow the developer’s account on Twitter.
Working:
1. Click on the link provided at the end of this article to install the SaveGPT extension.
2. Login to your Open AI account in ChatGPT and you will observe that the ‘Chat History’ button appears at the top right of the page.
3. Initiate a conversation with ChatGPT by typing any text prompt and wait for the response.
4. Now click on the ‘Chat History’ button and you will find that your conversations are being saved automatically. You must remember that your threads are saved locally in the browser and no data leaves your machine.
5. To download the saved threads, click on ‘Follow on’ at the top right of the SaveGPT window and follow the developer’s account on Twitter. Now, click on ‘Download all’ and the saved threads will be downloaded to your local system in HTML format. There is no provision to download selected ChatGPT threads at the time of writing this article.
