Stickk: Track and Achieve Your Goals

By Ian on January 28, 2011 | Sponsored Links

StickK is a free service to track and achieve your goals. It is the ideal service to use to make sure you complete those New Year Resolutions you promised yourself. The program helps you “stick” with those aforementioned promises. You are able to set stakes, choose a referee and have friends or fellow StickKers support you. The program is based on economic and behavioral research that prove people are more likely to achieve a goal if they put something at stake. In the case of StickK, money is the main stake with this service.

You have the choice of either selecting from a list of common goals or may create your own goal. In the event you choose to create your own goal, the program with ask you to supply all information so that the stakes can be set. If you decide to put money at stake, then you must  pay the full amount upfront, directly to StickK. Over the course, of trying to achieve the goal you have set for yourself, you will receive incentives from StickK and the total amount will be repaid to you as soon as you complete your commitment. If, in the event, you fail to reach your goal or parts of it, the money will go to a charity or anti-charity of StickK’ choice.

Also check out online task manager, and free budget planner.

Although putting money up as a stake is definitely an incentive to complete your commitment, it is also a little dangerous, in that you stand to lose and no one likes losing money. If you are going to make use of StickK, it is recommended that you do not use large amounts of money as your stake. It is recommended that you use something other that money. Putting something different up as a stake will not cost you money; washing the dishes, for example. At this present time, StickK expects users to put money at stake, so it may take a little wrangling to be able to put tasks up for stakes.

StickK is a fun service and such not be taken too seriously. Choosing friends or family members to  act as referees is also fun. If you make the commitment and everyone knows your are using the free service StickK, you soon find those around you are giving you full support. If you do complete the commitment, you’ll be able to brag to your friends that you actually did take those New Years Resolutions seriously.
