In this tutorial, I will explain how to get Facebook like chat heads for WhatsApp on Android. If you are a Facebook user who loves the chat on Facebook via official Facebook Messenger App, then I assume that you are well aware of Facebook chat heads.
For those who are unaware, Facebook chat heads are the pop-up like balls which lets you have a chat and reply to messages from anywhere and any app. It means you don’t have to open Facebook Messenger app again and again to reply for each message.
After following this tutorial, you will be able to get somewhat similar chat heads for WhatsApp chats. These chat heads let you read messages even from lock screen. I will use an Android app called Dashdow to accomplish this.
Note: This app doesn’t let you reply from within the chat heads, instead it opens WhatsApp for you to reply.
Steps to Get Facebook Like Chat Heads for WhatsApp on Android:
Install and launch Dashdow WhatsApp app on your Android smartphone. You can get the app by clicking on the link given at end of this tutorial. For first time launch of the app, you will find the Notificationaccess option to be disabled. You have to enable it for using the app and get Facebook like chat heads for WhatsApp.
After enabling this option, you can customize app by enabling/disabling options: Auto Open Popup, Lockscreen, and WhatsApp Open.
- Auto Open WhatsApp: On enabling, the app will open the pop-up with message content automatically for new messages.
- Lockscreen: Enable this option if you want to get Facebook like chat heads also on lockscreen.
- WhatsApp: Enable this option if you want to get chat heads even when you are using WhatsApp.
You can enable/disable these options as per your preference. There is also an option to show/hide message counter on chat heads for WhatsApp chats. You have to swipe left to get this option.
On enabling/disabling options as per you choice, you have to exit the app and you can see the changes and chat heads whenever you receive WhatsApp messages. Check the screenshots below to get the feel of Facebook like chat heads for WhatsApp on Android. Do remember that on tapping this chat heads message, the app will take you to WhatsApp for replying to them. You can’t reply to chats from within chat heads.
If you want to delete chat heads, then you only have to tap and hold it, and drag it to the bottom.
