Beew.io is an online tool for Scheduling your HTTPS requests such as POST, GET, PATCH and more to any URL.

An HTTP request is a message sent by a Client to initiate an action on the Server. The aim of the request is to access a resource on the Server. These requests are easy to create manually but it’s often difficult for developers to monitor whether they are working precisely.

Beew.io comes to the rescue over here, so that the developers can delegate the scheduling to an external tool. It provides a neat and simple User Interface for scheduling your HTTP Requests to any URL. It also provides a REST API in case you wish to create, update and monitor your jobs automatically.

Beew.io uses Secure HTTP in all its requests to keep them encrypted. Additional security can be provided by adding a private key to your requests.

Let’s figure out how it works:

1. Sign Up and Click on Schedule Request to start the Update Schedule dialog box. This is from where most of the work is done.

2. Configure the type of HTTP request like GET, POST, DELETE etc.

3. Assign the Time zone and configure the frequency using pre-defined intervals or Unix Cron schedule expressions.

4. Clicking on ‘Show More’ will take you to further settings where you can define the Headers, Response Type, and the Payload, if any. Next click on ‘Save’. Beew.io will then start executing your HTTP requests at the prescribed schedule.

In case you wish to pass any additional information between the Client Server you can configure your HTTP headers in the ‘Update Schedule’ dialog box. You can also configure the type of data contained in the server response after an HTTP Request. The available values are Text, Document, JSON and more.

A Log of all your HTTP requests with the specific response codes is available from the ‘Executions’ button. This gives you a real-time insight into your active Requests.

Cons:

  1. There is a limitation of up to 2 recurring jobs in the free version.
  2. There is no provision to send notifications in case any HTTP Request fails. This feature has been included in the paid version.

Verdict:

Overall this is a very useful online tool for scheduling HTTP requests to any URL and analyzing the response so that developers could be more concerned about the HTTP endpoints. Go ahead and try it at this link.
