Voilà is a web-based editor to create animated stories from photos for social media posts online for free. This editor allows you to create stunning animated stories from still photos. You can either upload your own photo or use one from the built-in stock image explorer. It offers dozens of templates with different story ideas. You can pick a template of your choice for your story.

Based on the template, you can have one, two, or maybe three text segments in the story. You can customize those texts and replace them with yours. You can also change the color of the text to make it stand out from the background. Once done, you can export the story in an MP4 video format and post it on your social media.

Create Animated Stories from Still Photos

To create a story with Voilà, you have to login first. You can easily login with your Google, Facebook, or Twitter account. After logging in, it welcomes you with its template gallery. You can browse the gallery to find a template that suits your style and use case. You can change the template later but here you get a larger preview of the template compared to what you get in the editor.

When you pick a template, it takes you to the editor and loads the template. There are two panels on each side. The left side panel is for resources. From this panel, you can change the template which now names Themes. Then you can pick a photo for the story. As I said earlier, you can either upload your own photos or pick one from the stock images. Do note that, you can only use one photo in a story.

Moving the right-side panel, it holds the customization options. Here you can crop the background photo and customize the text in the story t template. You can make the text bold, underline, and strikethrough. You can also change the color of the text to make it easy going with the background photo.

Once done, you can name your project from the settings. This is not necessary, just for easy sorting if you planning to create many stories. Afer that, click the “Download my video” button from the top right side. This renders the story as video and downloads it in MP4 file format.

Voilà is a quick way to create animated stories from still photos. It is easy to use with on learning curve at all. However the options are pretty limited, the text position is fixed as per the templates, you can only change the text and its color. The animation is also a simple zoom effect with no other option. But this is enough to make a decent story for social media.
