You can also select a template to get started or create a blank diagram to design. The editing interface is similar to other websites on my list, a toolbox called Stencil with diagram shapes on the left and other widgets to chat with real-time collaborators, adjust styling of shapes, etc. The process to draw the State machine diagram is also the same; drag and drop the shapes on to the editing canvas and then connect all of them together.
