TuneIn Radio is a free radio app for Windows 8 that allows you to listen to radio stations from around the world. TuneIn Radio is already a popular application across other platforms (iPhone, Android) and it is now available for the Windows 8 in a tile based app.
This radio app for Windows 8 is simple and straightforward. Select a station and start listening to it. You cannot choose what artist to listen to nor it allows you to create customized playlist. The app is a good option if you just like to listen to radio in a simple and intuitive interface. Depending on what you are listening to, TuneIn Radio will suggest other channels, so that you can find stations that provide you with content of your taste and interest.
When you open up the application you will see that the sations have been divided in different categories. This way you can easily navigate through the wide range of radio stations. Anyway the categories include talk, by language, podcast news, sports, music, and local radio stations. When you open up a category the app shows you sub categories relating to the categories so that you can refine your search even further. Also in the front page you will be able to see popular local radio stations.
In the example below, you can see that the music category is divided and broken down into genres, so that you can play what your heart desires. I really liked the way the interface is laid out as seen below in the screen shot. And I love the fact that you can access podcast directly from within the application.

There are some features which I really missed in the app. The app does not offer the ability to listen to a specific artist or bands by on demand streaming. When you search for an artist it will bring up radio channels that feature the artist. But it does not offer a way that allows you to continuously listen to them.
