MediaCoder is a free audio and video converter which let’s you convert several audio and video formats, in addition it offers a lot of other features and options. List of features offered is quite impressive, you can do pretty much everything from converting both music and movies, adjusting quality, resizing, cropping to gluing subtitles to video, or just embedding them.

As you can see from the screenshot of MediaCoder, it’s very complex, it has to be considering all the media conversion tools and features that it has. Top left corner of course hold the main menu and toolbar. Underneath that you can see large empty area where the audio and video files that you want to convert are gonna be listed. Right of all these things you can see an area where you can set the output folder and also check on what kind of codecs are used by the media file that you’ve opened. The entire lower part of the windows is for adjusting the output format settings.

How to Convert Audio and Video with MediaCoder?

Since there are a lot of things that you can do with MediaCoder, we’re only gonna stick to basics, and show you how to set up basic conversion. So the first step is to click on File and then on either Add File or Add Folder.

The Add Folder option will allow you to import entire folders with media at once. Files should be added to the list automatically. Once that you’re done with everything, you can switch down below through conversion setup tab. Focus on Video, Audio, and Container, last of which can be seen open in the image above. As you get more familiar with this free audio and video converter, you’ll be able to play around with more options. Don’t forget to set the output directory in the top right corner. When you’re done click the Start button from the top menu and that’s it.
