Before I start listing the 5 free online brainstorming tools that I have combined together for you, here’s a quick question- What exactly do you understand by the topic of this article? (Don’t worry, the answer lies in this article itself). An online brainstorming tool can have a very wide definition. But, as I said earlier, the answer lies in the article itself. Here, by brainstorming tools I mean an online platform where you can combine with your partners, colleagues, friends etc. and share ideas about various projects etc.  The websites provide you with multiple features to share your ideas, and all this can be done for free. All in all, an online meeting where ideas for a project can be shared and discussed, for free. How does that sound?

The 5 free online brainstorming tools mentioned in this list are StormBoard, Dabbleboard, Braintrust, Realtime Board, and Twoddla.

You can either create a session or join one by entering the storm details. Once inside, you have features like sticky notes, Image sharing, video sharing, chat, etc. to communicate your ideas. Images of different file formats like JPG, PNG, and more can be added, and to share a video from YouTube or Vimeo, you just have to enter the URL. The website also provides you a sketch board that you use to draw diagrams with the help of available tools. Although it has certain limitations, StormBoard has promising features as well.
