PerfectHotspot is free software for Windows 7 to create Wifi hotspot. PerfectHotspot lets you create Wifi hotspot from your computer for a number of devices that include netbooks, laptops, desktop computers, and smartphones etc. All you need to have is a Wireless Network Card in your computer and internet access from USB modem, that’s all.
The feature that makes PerfectHotspot really good is that, it does not set any limitations on the number of devices that can connect to the Wifi hotspot.
Also, PerfectHotspot lets you set password before creating Wifi hotspot. I like that PerfectHotspot does not let you set a weak password. That is, if your password is weak then you wont be able to set it. It is an extra security feature that PerfectHotspot offers.
How To Create A Wifi Hotspot:
In order to create Wifi Hotspot all you have to do is install PerfectHotspot in your PC (that has wireless network card) and then run it. The user interface is pretty simple to understand.
All you have to do is add a Wifi name and password. You can start the Wifi anytime from Start Hotspot button. Your PC will be converted into a Wifi spot instantly. Any other device that can connect to Wifi can scan for Wifi name.
As I mentioned about the password security feature in the beginning of the article. You can see a screenshot below that shows PerfectHotspot restricting me setting any weak password.
Note that only you require to install the software, the devices connected to the Wifi do not need to have any installation of any software.
Also, note that I have tried installing PerfectHotspot in Windows XP, but it did not work for me and PerfectHotspot requires Microsoft .NET 3.5 framework to run.
