Spelt (also known as Spe.lt) is a free website to get nutritional information for food items. It is actually pretty informative for you, me, and anyone else who is conscious about their health. We must know how many calories we consume daily, and this website is pretty good to get this information.
This website shows the percentage of protein, fat, and carbohydrate in a particular food item, along with the total number of calories. A beautiful horizontal bar chart is also plotted automatically to show the percentage of main nutrients.
You can prepare the list of food items that you take in breakfast, lunch and/or dinner and come to know the total amount of calories, protein, fat, and carbs consumed by you at a time or per day. No need to browse the web again and again to find nutritional information for food items. Collect the food items in a list and know the details.
The screenshot above shows the food items added by me in a list and their nutrients using this website.
Your list remains safe even after closing the browser tab or window (till you clear the browsing data). Unfortunately, there is no way to export the list as excel file or PDF or in any other way. I really wish there would be options available to export the list and keep track of daily calorie intake using a calendar.
