RingUp is a free Android app developed by IDev. This app is very handy because even if you set your phone to Silent or Vibrate mode, it makes sure that your phone sounds its ringtone when you receive calls from important contacts. You can set the important contacts for whom you want to hear the phone ring in silent/vibrate mode inside the Ring Up app. The RingUp app is very light on system memory, and does not consume much system resources even when running in the background.
RingUp is a must have app to make sure that you never miss a call from important people in your life!
Features of this RingUp App:
- The RingUp app’s Interface is fairly easy to understand. When you open Ring Up, you will see the following screen (see screenshot below). When you enable the User Mode (by tapping on User Mode OFF so that it changes to User Mode ON), the Ring Up app will come into play, and all the registered numbers will ring up during an incoming call, even though your phone is on vibrate or silent mode.
- You can register numbers to Ring Up by clicking RingUp No.s button in the above screenshot. When you do so, you will be taken to a screen where you can key in a number and set it to RingUp registered number. You can also select your contacts and add them to Ring Up by clicking the contacts button next to the number input field. As you can see in the below screenshot, I have added my Mom and Dad to RingUp registered contacts. You can also remove contacts from Ring Up registered contacts by clicking the Remove button next to the contact name.
- When you click on About RingUp button, you will see RingUp information as shown in the below screenshot.
What I like about this app?
- It’s free.
- It really comes in handy when you are in office or on a vacation, and you don’t want to miss important calls from family or work.
- It works like a charm.
- Supports Android 1.6 and above.

- The user interface is clumsy.
- Only 5 numbers are supported.
The verdict
RingUp is a must have app for all Android users out there, as it makes your life a lot easier at work, college or vacation. The user interface could have been a bit more polished, but the app developers definitely deserve hats-off for the awesome work that they have done in bringing this app to the Android platform.
