Security Process Explorer is a free windows process explorer that allows the user to control all the processes running on Windows. Windows, by default has a Task Manager, which usually does the job of Process management. Security Process Explorer is an enhanced version of the task manager. In fact it is much more evolved than the conventional Task manager because it comes packed with a lot of features. It can also completely replace Windows Task Manager, so that when you click Alt + Ctrl +Del, Security Process Explorer will come up, instead of Windows Task Manager (this setting is optional).
There are situations, when the user wants to stop a process because it is very intensive and consumes a lot of CPU and memory. Such processes can be stopped and other critical process may have to be manually started. All this can be done using security process explorer. Information display about running processes
Security Process Explorer displays complete information about a process. All standard information regarding the process like file name, Directory path, Detailed description etc., is displayed. One unique feature is that a security risk rating is also displayed. This risk rating is a calculation of the security risk involved in running the program. The choice of terminating and deleting the program is left to the user.
If the user is not sure about the specifics of the program, a right click and selecting the info tab would take the user to the Glarysoft’s database, where it will give more information about the program.
Stop/Start processes
Security Process Explorer allows the user to monitor various processes and stop them. The user can also set priorities to various processes manually to change the resource allocation. Finding and removing unnecessary background processes, malware is easy.
Per process view
Security process Explorer provides a view of CPU usage, memory usage for each process individually. A detailed description of the process information along with the graphs is presented.
Replace Windows Task Manager
On clicking File-> Replace Task Manager, security process manager gets integrated with the operating system and replaces the conventional Task Manager. Now Ctrl+Alt+Del or right click on the taskbar, would display the Security Process Explorer.
Menu Bar options
The user can choose File-> New Tasks, to initiate new tasks or open a file. Choosing File->Exit Windows, Shuts down or restarts Windows for the changes to take effect. Edit-> Set Process Priority can be used to change the process priority and specify the system to allocate the required resources for a process.
