eMule project started from the eDonkey2000 client. Its history its tied to a guy called Merkur who understood that eDonkey2000 wasn’t anymore a great tool and he decided to form a group with other developers and create a new project called eMule. Nowadays eMule is a well known client for peer to peer file sharing, and is considered to be in same league as LimeWire, and uTorrent. Because it is an open source project other people come daily with new improvements and ideas for eMule. We can only be satisfied of its continuous improvements.
One great feature of eMule is the unique Queue and Credit system, that has at its base the uploading capability of every user. The more you will upload the more you will be able to download from the network you connect. eMule hasn’t been bundled with any kind of Adware or Spyware, you don’t have to worry for things like that. Another open source P2P file sharing program that you can try is Ares.
