Here is a list of websites to download free Kindle books.
Apart from downloading free Kindle books from Amazon, there are many other free sources that I have covered in this list. These websites contain thousands of free and paid books available in MOBI format that can be played in Kindle reader or other MOBI reader software. Apart from this, many of these websites let you download books in ePub format also.
Some of these websites also come with their own online ebook readers. So before downloading a particular book, you can first read a few pages to decide if you should download the book or not.
Let’s start with the first free Kindle books downloader website available in this list.
Project Gutenberg
I don’t think this website needs an introduction. Project Gutenberg is among the popular libraries of free eBooks. It offers 50,000+ eBooks that include free Kindle books, ePub books, etc. For many Kindle eBooks, you also get an option to download books with images or without images.
You can access the bookshelf of this website that includes 21 subcategories (from A to Z): Children’s Bookshelf, Animal, Education Bookshelf, Fiction Bookshelf, etc., and explore the books available in those subcategories. Or else, you can start a search by inserting the keywords in the search box.

Smashwords
Many of you have also heard about Smashwords website that contains DRM free eBooks and lets you publish your own eBooks too. There are total 382,342 eBooks (and counting) available among which 58,905 eBooks are available for free. eBooks are available in MOBI, ePub, LRF, and other formats and you can download any book in a single click.
It also provides a feature rich eBook reader. You can adjust the font size and face, background and text color, and set line spacing while reading a book online.
Searching the books is also very easy in this website. You can search books by length, price, recent, best sellers, etc. So many features are available in this website that make it one of my favorite platform to download free Kindle books.

BookieJar
BookieJar (beta) is also a good website to download free Kindle books. Here, authors have submitted their free as well as paid eBooks. More than 1000 eBooks are available to grab. You can search books very easily by applying the filters. You can filter books by category, free or paid, release date, title, author, etc. It also lets you read eBooks online with a basic reader.
Searching the books and reading them can be done without sign up, but to download books in MOBI format, you must create your free account. After creating your account, you need to add a book to your saved list (known as BookieJar). After this, you can download the eBook in MOBI or ePub format.
If you are a writer, this platform also lets you submit your own eBooks. So this eBook distributing and publishing platform is good for both readers and publishers.
Conclusion:
There are other websites as well that let you download free Kindle books, but most of them only add the link of Amazon books or have limited stock. That’s why I prefer and recommend these websites to download Kindle or other books. Among these websites, my personal favorite is Smashwords.
