This article covers a web app that lets you test a website across different devices. You can simply provide a link to the website and then select a device-type to test the website. By doing so, you can visualize how your website looks on different types of devices. Moreover, you can also browse the website on all those devices and check the user interface and layout for each device-type.

Retest is a freemium simple-to-use web app for cross-device website testing. This app has some of the most popular mobile, tablet, and desktop device-types where you can test your website. This includes Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad variants, and desktop devices from various OEMs. The free plan gives you access to the limited devices and the good thing is that it covers basically all types of devices. But, if you want to try your website on all the provided devices, you can do that with the PRO plan that costs $4 per month.

Test Website Across Different Devices with Retest

To begin the website testing with Retest, an account is required. You can create an account on Retest (under the free plan) within a minute. When you log in to your account, this app directly takes you to the website testing where you can type the URL of the website you want to test. Do note that, this app doesn’t work for websites with security measures e.g. Google, Facebook, etc.

By default, this app takes you to the HTTPS website testing which doesn’t work for HTTP website. If you want to test an HTTP website, click the give “HTTP Website” link and type the URL there.

After typing the URL, click the TEST button to choose a device type for testing. At this point, Retest gives you the following three options:

  • Mobile: Mobile devices from Apple, OnePlus, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, and Huawei.
  • Tablets: Tablet devices from Apple, Samsung, Nexus, Dell, and Xperia.
  • Desktop: Desktop devices from Apple, Dell, Microsoft Surface, Samsung, Google, HP, ASUS, and Lenovo.

All the listed device options contain a screen mockup of the original device with actual screen specifications. You can choose any of these device-types and then select a device to test your website. Retest opens your website on that device where you can browse the website. You can scroll up and down, move back and forth between the pages, and open links.

Each device mockup has a rotate and a zoom option at the bottom. With the Rotate option, you can check out the website in different orientations and with Zoom option, you can observe the minor UI changes. With all these features, you can test out your website across different devices with ease.
